Age guidance and youth protection

Account eligibility

Account features are intended for people aged 14 or older. You must also meet any higher minimum age or parental-consent requirements where you live. We do not currently provide a verified parental-consent process for children under 14.

This account rule is separate from a work's age classification. Young readers and guardians should consider the content and context even in previews available without signing in.

Content guidance

We refer to the webtoon self-regulation bands of all ages, 12 and over, 15 and over, and 18 and over. The following summarizes our review guidance; it is not government certification or an assigned rating for existing works.

For all-age suitability: accessible themes and mild conflict, avoiding sexualized material, cruel violence and encouragement of dangerous imitation.

For ages 12 and over: tension, conflict, mild violence or coarse language must avoid direct, sustained shock, glorification of crime or drugs, and practical instructions for dangerous imitation.

For ages 15 and over: complex social themes, thrillers and conflict are assessed in context. Adult-only intensity, including strong or repeated sexual stimulation, graphic mutilation, or glorification of abuse, self-harm or drug use, is not allowed.

We do not currently offer adult-only content classified for ages 18 and over or restricted to adults. An adult label, sign-in, age checkbox or external link cannot bypass this prohibition.

Per-work rating labels and age verification are not yet available. Do not treat an unlabeled work as suitable for all ages. A creator's proposed rating or an AI review pass is not a confirmed classification.

Creation, review and photorealism

Adult-only content may not be published or offered in previews. Create material suitable for young people and assess themes, violence, sexual content, language, drugs, gambling, discrimination and imitation risk. Uncertain cases are held for operator review.

The same scene may convey injury, fear or sexual material more directly in photorealism. Consider character age, realism, repetition, prominence, dialogue and every translation in context. The mere presence of a fictional minor is not a violation.

The same standard applies to covers, titles, descriptions, translations, episode images and previews. Questionable material is held and operators record reasons and necessary changes. Existing publications may also be reviewed and removed from access when needed.

Age checks and personal data

Google sign-in and acceptance of terms are not verification of age, adulthood or parental consent. We do not currently collect birth dates, identity documents or guardians' identity records. Do not submit such records in reports.

If eligibility needs clarification, operators first explain the minimum information and process required. Unconfirmed age is never guessed or recorded as verified. Requests concerning children's data are reviewed through account rights requests and Support and reports.

Protection and support

Report harmful material or inappropriate age guidance through Support and reports. Operators assess intensity, context and potential harm and may suspend access without advance warning. Affected parties can view disclosed reasons and submit explanations or appeals.

Operators review these standards and relevant cases before making decisions and record reasons for holds, actions and reconsideration. Public contact information comes from the service's registered contact details.
